Day 13: Thu 27th: Blakey Ridge to Egton Bridge Horseshoe Hotel

 Food and beer was good at The Lion Inn, just as well there was nothing for miles. This place is really remote!

After breakfast we depart at 9.10. Chris just could not get going, it may have been fatigue from yesterday. 

The path took us left along the road and then off on mainly wide tracks across the moors, heading east. 

The scenery was much like yesterday on the moors and even when we dropped into the valleys it was very similar to before.

Dead centre here is The Lion Inn, very remote.

This house is being fixed up, not sure why it’s tiny and way down a track. Very remote!

We had been hearing and occasionally seeing jet fighters, Chris says they are Euro fighters. This was a screen shot from a video Chris took, he had just turned on the after burners. Will be included in video at bottom. 

We finished at 2pm! So nearly 5 hrs with no real breaks 19km, not the 16km predicted as we did go the wrong way for about a kilometre. 

Today: 19.34

Total: 301.91 

(The total C2C is suppose to be 300 Km but my total includes detours to accommodation and the extra kilometres added on the first and second day by doing the St Bee’s Head loop)  

Tomorrow we are of to Robin Hood’s Bay and the finish line. There are some climbs up onto the moors and it’s suppose to be 18.5 miles 32km.
